Back to reality for Bush

Dave Bush was brought back down to earth last night in Arizona as the Brewers lost to the Diamondbacks 6-3; they are now 5.5 games behind the Cubs after both they and the Cards won. Great.

After all the media hype, mostly by JSOnline and other outlets, Dave Bush pitched a pretty horrendous game. Keep in mind people, this is the same guy who was shipped down to Nashville because he threw wretchedly in the first two months of the season. Yes, we all know he came close to a no-hitter...but what the hell does count for? That's like almost sealing the deal on some lady-friend back in high school. Your friends all know you failed, she knows it, you know it....so move on. Bush did and he lost (4-6). Which brings me to my next point...

CC Sabathia may actually be a good idea. I can guaranty you both Bush and McClung are not playoff rotation worthy. Both have had some great moments this season, McClung more so than Bush, but you need an anchor to rely on if Sheets goes down. Until now, I have been anti-CC Sabathia. But with the plethora of prospects at the AA level and no place to go up, one has to come to the realization that they need to move on to other teams and get their shot. This of course EXCLUDES the two Mat(t)'s. Anyone else should be fair game in a trade. Buster Olney from ESPN.com believes that the Brewers are at the top of the list in the Sabathia frenzy.

Offensively, the Brewers have now had back-to-back games with lack luster bats. Keep in mind however that they are on the road and playing against some good teams. Arizona is destined to right their ship and won't have much difficulty doing so due to their uncommonly weak division. With the Padres, Dodgers, and Rockies all struggling. Arizona is only one game over .500 with last nights win.

-Braun went 0-5 last night. He is 1 for 14 in the past 3 games. Wonder if this will effect his All Star votes? Thus far it hasn't, as he has rose to 4th place behind Fukudome. Ken Griffey Jr rose to 2nd thanks impart to his 600th HR. Meanwhile, Soriano is in 1st despite the fact that he isn't even playing right now and has been on the DL twice so far.

-Rickie Weeks can be pretty damn brainless when at the plate. Last night he swung away on an outside pitch during a 3-1 count with bases loaded. Why? This isn't the first time he has done this in the season. Brains....use them.

-Hardy has a 12 game hitting streak and is batting over .340 during it!

-Cappy attended the game last night. He looked like he put on some weight (I'm one to talk) but looks healthy. I really like him and I hope that he can come out of this ordeal stronger and better. But my gut is telling me he's pretty much threw as a starter. He also had kind words to say about ex-Brewer Doug Davis and the thyroid Cancer.

-Huntsville Stars' turn out 10 All Stars from it's team! That's pretty damn impressive. The usual suspects are included. Joe Bateman and Steve Hammond won't due to their call-up to Nashville. Mat Gamel and Matt LaPorta won't play because they will be participating in the Future's game.

-Eric Byrne's is back on the DL with a strained hamstring. For some reason, Bob Melvin signaled him to steal third despite just coming off the DL for the same damn injury. Not too smart.

-Milwaukee Brewers are lighting up the TV ratings in the Metro and through out Wisconsin!
