CC Sabathia To Debute On Tuesday VS Colorado!

Well folks, the deal is confirmed by JSonline and other media outlets. The Brewers have acquired CC Sabathia from the Cleveland Indians for #1 prospect Matt LaPorta and Taylor Green. There will be a third named later tonight. Matt Gamel and Alcides Escobar will not be included in the trade. First rumors mentioned both those names and Laporta. But Melvin was pretty stern in his talks with GM Mark Shapiro of the Indians. Laporta, who I thought was the second coming of Ryan Braun, really had no place to move up to. He is a legit first basemen and has made the shift to the outfield in Huntsville.

CC Sabathia is 6-8 with a 3.83 ERA. He should get the nod to start on Tuesday vs Colorado at Miller Park. It sounds like this deal could've been locked up earlier in the week even, but Melvin probably wanted to wait to seal it back at home.

Milwaukee will most certainly make the play offs.

McClung will be the odd man out. Perhaps even traded?.? His stock has risen with his above average performance with Milwaukee.

-JJ Hardy should be an All Star, if you were to look at stats. If you were to look at his first 2 months, you would be not think so.

-Ryan Braun was voted to the All Star game. I don't put much in to the All Star game. It's only a 1/2 season award. (see 2007 Hardy).

-Milwaukee is now dead even with the Cards and only 3 1/2 behind the Cubs. The Cubs on the other hand took 2 of 3 from the Cards. Both Soriano and Zambrano should be back just before or after the All Star Break.

-All of Milwaukee's starting line up, Bill Hall included, are on a hot streak. Prince even started to come around with the game wining single last night.

* I have neglected to update this blog due to moving. No internet until Tuesday. Sorry.

-Fielder now has competition with CC for the Clubs biggest player.
