Brewers Look To Stabilize Themselves In Atlanta

Milwaukee travels down to the Peach State to take on the banged up Atlanta Braves. Hopefully they can regain their composure and build off this horrific week.

Jeff Suppan (5-7) will battle Chuck James (love that name) (LHP/2-3).

The good news is that Suppan will face a pitcher who has a 8.22 ERA. The bad news is that Jeff Suppan is pitching. He has been pitiful this season and can only go up from here. Really.

The remainder of the week are match ups that all favor the Brewers. CC (3.33) tomorrow, Ben (3.14 ) on Sunday. Braves will throw Charlie Morton and Jorge Campillo against us. On paper, we should be able to win this series. But who knows. We lost the Astros series and they are in last place! Let's turn it back around here Crew.

-Atlanta rookie-catcher Clint Sammons is a player to watch during the series. He was Jeff Francoeur's quarterback back in high school (suburban Atlanta). He just came off a big game against the Cardinals, having 3 hits and his first career home run. This guy should have a bright future with the Braves.

-Huntsville Stars are pretty banged up: Salome and Brantley are on the DL, while Escobar is in the DH role with a nagging finger injury. Brantley's numbers have been "frozen in time" while he waits for his high ankle sprain to heel. That occurred June 26th.

-Team Canada hammered the Czech's 25-1 at the World Junior Baseball Championships this week. Brett Lawrie (Brewers unsigned draft pick) belted a three-run homer.
