Bush-Wacked

Dave Bush finally was given the chance by Ned Yost to pitch away from Miller Park last night against the Reds; in return helping deliver an 8-1 win. Wise move. Only a week ago was Dave Bush (6-9) was awarded the 5th spot in the rotation, beating out the sliding Seth McClung. Despite pitching horrific in the Queen City in previous games Bush was lights out last night. The Wake Forest alumni tossed 7 complete innings giving up only 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 batters. He certainly looked very similar to the Bush that almost pitched a no-hitter a couple of months ago. Kudos to Bush. Although he has been very, very spotty this season, he has proven in the years past that he can deliver in the second half of the season (see last year).

KFC Hot Wings Hot Player, Prince Fielder, has been on a tear in the past 7 games hitting 6 homers. Last night the lefty belted his 26th HR of the season and is now only 4 back from Ryan Braun. If both of these players hit 45 home runs this season, and we don't make it to the playoffs...I will surely be sad.

-JJ Hardy snapped his 0-28 slump with two hits last night. Man, that's an awfully long cold streak. But we all know that the kid can snap out of a half-season slump in gregarious style.

-Mike Cameron is 9-58, but did hit a single and a double last night.

-Ryan Braun went 3-5 with a double.

-Corey Hart blasted his 4th triple and 33rd double of the season last night. Nicely done Hart. We really need Hart and Hardy to heat up here in the final two months. Both have been stagnant at the plate. Hart has shown fatigue in the outfield as well.

-Eric Gagne threw a perfect inning last night, proving to me once again that he might by turning the boat around here.

-Milwaukee is favored to win today (139). Suppan will go up against Homer Baily RHP (0-5 & 7.55 era). The game is at 11:35am.

-Prince apologized (half-ass) for pushing Manny Parra. He says he would've handled it better. Yes, you could have.

-Mat Gamel is struggling big time in the second half down in Huntsville. Perhaps we did give up the wrong Mat(t)? I'm sure this is just a slump and Gamel will regain his swing. What he needs to do is work on his defense.

-As most of you cats already know...

CC Sabathia and Ryan Braun both earned MVP Honors for the month of July! Well deserved!

  1. I didn't know you got KFC to sponsor this thing. You must have left there on good terms.

  3. I should've. K, FSN has that stupid "KFC Hot Wings Hot Player" promo going on. Prince was the "player" during last nights game. What are you a caveman? Don't the rabbit ears work on the tv? silly man.
